Manuel Maria Trindade, a 22-year-old bullfighter, died after being lifted and slammed into a wall by a nearly 700-kilogram bull during his debut performance in Lisbon, Portugal. The incident occurred on August 15, when Trindade provoked the bull and was subsequently gored and struck in the head. He was immediately taken off the arena on a stretcher, treated at the infirmary, and then transferred to a hospital, where he later died. The event was witnessed by hundreds of spectators. Following the tragedy, Trindade's mother condemned those who expressed joy over her son's death. The bull involved weighed approximately 1,500 pounds (695 kilograms).
