Newgarden, Rahal involved … https://t.co/rbOlKzNOY7
Looked as if Josef locked the rears & spun heading into the first turn of note after the green flag. Car is on the hook. Significant damage to the rear. Josef's out of the car & into the AMR Safety Truck. Broadcast showed a team member heading to the garage with a rear wing. https://t.co/35j0T0W9W7
WOW. Chaos on the @IndyCar start as @josefnewgarden and @12WillPower get into trouble at turn five and @GrahamRahal are also involved! Unreal. Caution on the first lap. 2 radio: "The rears just locked." #IndyCar | #Honda200
The opening lap of the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio was halted by a full-course caution after Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden spun and crashed, damaging the rear of his car and becoming stranded in a gravel trap. Newgarden’s incident also collected Graham Rahal, while Will Power was reported to have been involved in the turn-five chaos. Newgarden exited the car uninjured and was transported by the AMR Safety crew, but his entry required a tow to the garage for extensive repairs, extending a string of setbacks in his 2025 IndyCar campaign.
