Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange, has registered with India's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and settled a fine of ₹9.27 crore ($1.06 million) for compliance violations. The fine was imposed after Bybit allegedly expanded its operations in India without securing mandatory registration. Following the settlement, Bybit announced its commitment to operate within the regulatory framework of India and fulfill its compliance obligations. The exchange's website was reportedly blocked in India due to the violations. Meanwhile, a Canadian individual, 22, has been charged in connection with a hack involving KyberNetwork, resulting in the theft of $65 million in cryptocurrency. The suspect, who has not been apprehended, faces up to 90 years in prison if convicted.
