Robotics startup Figure AI, valued at approximately $3 billion, has terminated its partnership with OpenAI, citing a major breakthrough in embodied AI. CEO Brett Adcock announced that the company will unveil a new humanoid capability within the next 30 days. Adcock explained that during the development of embodied intelligence, they realized that outsourcing AI components was not feasible, as AI is too critical to overall performance. He noted that large language models (LLMs) are becoming smarter but more commoditized, stating that LLMs have quickly become the smallest piece of the puzzle for Figure AI's operations.
