Nvidia Corp. said its robotics software stack has attracted more than two million developers, marking a sharp increase in interest as companies apply artificial-intelligence tools in manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare and other sectors. The milestone, announced 18 Aug., follows last week’s release of new Omniverse libraries, Cosmos physical-AI models and upgraded servers that streamline the design and deployment of autonomous machines. The momentum comes as contract-manufacturer Foxconn readies production lines for Nvidia’s first humanoid robots, with a public showcase targeted for November, according to trade publication Wccftech. The devices will be built on the next-generation Jetson Thor platform and will tap Nvidia’s Isaac simulation framework and GR00T foundation models to speed training and real-world performance. Nvidia launched its Jetson edge-AI platform in 2014 and has since assembled an ecosystem of more than 150 hardware, software and sensor partners serving roughly 7,000 customers. Moving into humanoid form factors would extend the chipmaker’s reach beyond data-center and gaming graphics chips, positioning it to capture a slice of what it calls the emerging “physical AI” economy.
