The Russian State Duma has passed several new laws and regulations affecting financial, cultural, and legal domains. A law was approved to insure irrevocable long-term deposits up to 2.8 million rubles. Another legislation introduces collective implementation of the digital ruble starting September 1, 2026, alongside a universal QR code system. The Duma also enacted a law to protect religious symbols by prohibiting the use of images of sacred buildings and recognizable religious objects without permission. Additionally, criminal liability was established for desecrating military graves and monuments to defenders of the Fatherland, including those outside Russia, with penalties of up to five years imprisonment or fines up to 5 million rubles. The Ministry of Finance announced an increase in the tax deduction for long-term savings products for families with children, raising it to 1 million rubles. Lastly, the State Duma plans to impose fines for searching extremist materials on the internet.
