Trump: I was just sent a picture from somebody who wants to be there very badly. He has been very respectful of me and our country…I am going to sign this for him. Vladimir Putin…I thought it was a nice picture of him, okay of me… like a fiddle https://t.co/HQaW8JW7OA
Putin: Russia expects a full-scale restoration of relations with the US.
بوتين: متأكد أن مزايا قيادة ترامب ستساعد في استعادة العلاقات الثنائية بين بلدينا
U.S. President Donald Trump said he is open to hosting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Washington, adding that the trip "may come depending on what happens" and that he hopes Putin will "be good; if not, it will be a rough situation." Trump made the remarks while showing reporters a photograph of himself with Putin during a White House appearance. Separately, Putin said Moscow is "hopeful that initial moves will lead to a complete restoration of relations" with the United States and expressed confidence that the qualities of Trump’s leadership would facilitate the rapprochement. The reciprocal comments signal a possible thaw in bilateral relations after years of tensions, although both leaders indicated that progress depends on upcoming developments.
