The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) has terminated its contract with SF SAFE, a nonprofit organization, amid a criminal investigation into the organization's financial issues. SF SAFE, which had been affiliated with the SFPD, is accused of not paying its bills and engaging in frivolous spending. The organization allegedly owes $445,306 in unpaid rent for a lavish office space to its Mission landlord. This financial mismanagement has led to SF SAFE losing one of its major financial supporters, the SFPD.
