FIFA’s latest men’s world ranking, published 10 July, keeps World Cup winner Argentina on top with 1,885.36 points. The Albiceleste have led the table since April 2023 and are now within six months of matching Spain’s 2011-14 record for the longest consecutive run at No. 1. Spain (1,867.09 points) and France (1,862.03) narrow the gap in second and third, while England and Brazil round out an unchanged top five. Nations League champion Portugal climbs one place to sixth, pushing the Netherlands to seventh. Belgium hold eighth and Germany take ninth ahead of Croatia, whose rise to 10th forces Italy out of the elite group for the first time since 2022. In CONCACAF, Gold Cup winner Mexico jumps four rungs to 13th on 1,689.73 points, overtaking the United States (15th) as the region’s highest-ranked side. Costa Rica records the biggest leap worldwide, soaring 14 places to 40th after its quarter-final run, while Greece climbs 15 spots to 39th following strong Nations League form. Canada continues its rapid ascent under coach Jesse Marsch, reaching an all-time best No. 28 and marking a 22-place improvement since February 2024. FIFA said 202 international matches fed into the calculation; the next ranking update is scheduled for 18 September.
