Atalanta BC confirmed the signing of Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton for an initial €17.5 million, with a further €4 million linked to performance-related add-ons. The 23-year-old agreed a four-year contract running to June 2029, and Southampton will retain a 15 per-cent sell-on clause. In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen bolstered their defence by bringing in 21-year-old centre-back Jarell Quansah from Liverpool. Sources close to the negotiations put the fee at about €35 million, rising by up to €6 million through bonuses. Liverpool inserted a €60 million buy-back option that can be triggered from 2027. Atlético de Madrid continued an aggressive recruitment drive. The club completed a €45 million deal, plus €5 million in variables, for Spanish midfielder Alex Baena from Villarreal and has tabled a €70 million package (comprised of €55 million guaranteed and €15 million in bonuses) to prise Argentine defender Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur. The trio of moves signals a brisk start to the 2025 summer window, with Serie A, Bundesliga and La Liga sides moving early to reinforce ahead of preseason camps.
