The Spanish coach admitted his side struggled to create chances against Botafogo’s low block despite introducing four regular starters from the bench. The result leaves Botafogo on six points and top of Group B, while PSG and Atlético Madrid trail on three. PSG must beat the winless Seattle Sounders on 23 June to be certain of reaching the knockout rounds. The victory is the first by a Brazilian club over a European opponent in an official fixture since Corinthians defeated Chelsea in the 2012 Club World Cup final.
