Real Madrid is preparing to trim its squad at left-back and has informed interested clubs that Ferland Mendy is the likeliest departure, according to Spanish outlet Diario AS. The European champions are seeking about €14 million for the 30-year-old France international, who has two seasons remaining on his contract. Mendy and fellow left-back Fran García are both tied to the club through 2027 and would prefer to stay. However, Madrid’s coaching staff believes one must be sold to balance minutes and wages after García’s strong performances at the recent FIFA Club World Cup attracted outside interest, the reports said.
