The launch of Avail DA on the mainnet signifies a pivotal step towards scaling thousands of rollups in the blockchain ecosystem. Key components still needed to realize this goal include Avail Nexus and Avail Fusion. The concept of chain abstraction is being highlighted as a logical evolution in modular blockchain design, which aims to optimize and scale specific components independently. However, this modular approach has created user experience challenges. Experts emphasize that once identity abstraction is refined and cross-chain user experience is improved, the distinctions between Layer 1 and Layer 2 solutions will diminish. The focus will shift to the network's speed, stability, and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, advancements in chain abstraction are expected to enhance user experience across the Ethereum ecosystem, aiming for a return to 2015-era fees while achieving the quality and scale expected in 2029. The introduction of a Clearing Layer is anticipated to further support these developments. Discussions at the EthCC event also highlighted the need for orchestration in cross-chain interactions, which is currently lacking in the chain abstraction landscape.
While at @EthCC, @agoric's @DeanTribble sat down with @therollupco to talk Chain Abstraction 🙌 "What's currently missing from the Chain Abstraction landscape is what we call Orchestration, making cross-chain interactions programmable" Listen 👇 https://t.co/7Feqqi2iDC
Chain Abstraction: The endgame of UX for the entire Ethereum-verse! By addressing solver rebalancing issues, we can scale Chain Abstraction to achieve: → 2015-era Ethereum-like experience → 2015-era fees → 2029-era UX quality and scale Clearing Layer coming soon. 🔔 https://t.co/uBHhKw32Yt
L1 or L2 / rollup, it will not matter once: • identity abstraction is polished • bridging and cross-chain UX is fast / seamless Bad UX from fragmentation is temporary. The only things that will matter: is the network fast, stable, and consistently (cheaply) priced.
