Fubo on Thursday announced “Fubo Sports,” a new standalone streaming package aimed at cost-conscious sports fans. The service will debut 2 September at an introductory $45.99 for the first month and $55.99 thereafter. Subscribers gain access to more than 20 national and local sports channels, including ESPN, ESPN2, ACC Network, Big Ten Network, CBS Sports Network, FS1, FS2, NFL Network and regional ABC, CBS and Fox stations where available. Unlimited cloud DVR and family-sharing features are included. The bundle also confers log-in rights to ESPN Unlimited, Disney’s direct-to-consumer flagship that launched 21 August at $29.99 a month and aggregates the full portfolio of ESPN networks and ESPN+. Fubo said it will become the first distributor to integrate ESPN Unlimited viewing directly within its own app in the coming weeks. At $56 a month once promotional pricing ends, Fubo Sports undercuts rival skinny sports bundles from DirecTV and Comcast, each priced near $70, while omitting networks owned by NBCUniversal and Warner Bros. Discovery. The launch comes as streaming providers race to assemble affordable packages after a wave of new direct-to-consumer sports services from ESPN and Fox. Fubo reported second-quarter North-American revenue of $371.3 million and 1.36 million paid subscribers, both down year over year, as it seeks to revive growth through narrower, lower-priced offerings such as Fubo Sports. Chief Executive Officer David Gandler said the new tier "super-serves passionate sports fans" and expands the company’s menu of flexible, competitively priced options.
