GE Vernova Inc. said it will acquire French software developer Alteia SAS, aiming to strengthen the utility-focused artificial-intelligence capabilities in its GridOS platform. Alteia’s software analyses visual data—including aerial photographs—to allow power companies to inspect infrastructure, identify vegetation trimming needs and assess damage more quickly and at lower cost. GE Vernova plans to integrate the technology across its grid-management offerings to help utilities improve reliability and cut maintenance expenses. The companies did not disclose the value or closing timetable of the transaction.
