The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced new guidance and tools from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), following the 270-day mark of their initial release. NIST has released four guidance documents and a software package intended to improve the safety, security, and trustworthiness of artificial intelligence (AI) systems. These releases are part of the agency’s response to last year’s AI Executive Order issued by President Biden.
