OpenAI has launched Codex, a cloud-based AI coding agent capable of autonomously writing new features, running tests, and fixing bugs in parallel. Codex represents a major advancement in AI-powered software development, able to handle multiple software development tasks simultaneously without human interference. It has been integrated into the ChatGPT iOS app, enabling users to start coding tasks, view and edit code diffs, request changes, and push pull requests directly from their mobile devices. OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman described Codex as "the biggest change to programming I’ve ever seen."
