Startup Proactor on 17 June unveiled what it claims is the first “proactive AI” agent, a tool that joins voice or video conversations without prompts, transcribes them in real time and automatically provides summaries, to-do lists and background information. The system is designed to identify information gaps as a discussion unfolds and surface relevant data before users ask, aiming to streamline workplace collaboration. Voice-technology firm ElevenLabs followed on 23 June with the launch of 11ai, a voice-first personal assistant that connects to productivity platforms such as Notion, Perplexity and Linear via the Model Context Protocol. ElevenLabs says 11ai can schedule tasks, research leads and post updates across workplace apps through spoken or typed commands. The two announcements underscore a fast-moving shift toward AI systems that anticipate user needs rather than wait for prompts, a capability developers argue will lift adoption of conversational agents in everyday professional workflows.
