The Runes project is positioning itself as a significant alternative for developers, particularly those familiar with Solana and Ethereum. The project is encouraging Solana developers to transition to Runes, highlighting the advantages of using Rust over Solidity. There is a strong sentiment among some community members that Runes will experience a major resurgence, likening it to a volcanic eruption, while Ethereum could face challenges as a result. In the broader context, there is ongoing discussion about programming languages, with Rust gaining traction among major tech companies for its efficiency. Developers are also exploring alternatives such as Zig, with some expressing frustration over existing languages like TypeScript and Haskell. The sentiment around Runes suggests an optimistic future for the project, with expectations of significant price movements once the current accumulation period ends.
Once this accumulation period for $RUNE ends, the green candles printed will be criminal. At this point, there are only two kinds of people: 1. "Nah, $RUNE old dino coin. Wtf is it actually?" 2. "@THORChain is critical infrastructure, nothing like it exists and $RUNE will be…
I'm trying so hard NOT to use TypeScript, tried Haskell on Stack but imports still suck (and it doesn't run on web), Rust closures are awkward and pure FP on it isn't great, Bend is in development so chicken and egg situation. I don't see anything more pragmatic than TS today 💀
Listened to a bunch of #zig pods + watched some vids over the weekend. Super intrigued. Once incremental compilation hits there is no excuse to not take a very serious look at where to use it as an alternative to #rust.
