Samsung Electronics has begun distributing the stable One UI 8 Watch upgrade, its first software based on Google’s Wear OS 6, to the 2024 Galaxy Watch Ultra. The rollout started on 22 July, only weeks after the company opened a short beta program in the United States and South Korea and ahead of the market arrival of the new Galaxy Watch 8 series. The update, roughly 2 GB, makes the Galaxy Watch Ultra the first commercially available Wear OS device to receive Wear OS 6. It introduces several wellness tools previously exclusive to the forthcoming Watch 8 line, including Running Coach, Vascular Load tracking and an Antioxidant Index, alongside interface tweaks such as Multi-Info Tiles and the Now Bar designed for quicker access to key data.
