A group of developers is creating a dating and social-networking platform called “Single Riders” aimed at adults who are passionate about Disney theme parks. Conceived by Orlando-based content creator @JoetheBeardedNerd after a missed date at Walt Disney World, the app is designed to match users for either romance or friendship based on their shared interest in park visits. The developers say a beta version is scheduled for release later this year and will include features that show when other singles are in the parks at the same time. The project taps into the growing community of so-called “Disney adults,” many of whom visit parks alone and use social media to find like-minded companions.
