A report published by Save the Children reveals that 97% of young people in Spain have experienced some form of sexual violence online during their adolescence. The study, which surveyed 1,000 youths, highlights that one-third of minors received sexual messages from adults, and girls reported higher pressure to send intimate content, with 28.5% affected compared to 18.4% of boys. Additionally, 20% of young people have been victims of AI-generated deepfake content. The digital platforms most commonly used to perpetrate these crimes include Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Furthermore, the Consejo Ciudadano para la Seguridad y Justicia noted a sharp increase in these offenses in the first half of 2025, with 85% of victims being adolescents and 59% female. This data underscores the pervasive nature of online sexual violence against minors in Spain.
