Endesa has filed a legal claim against the Spanish government seeking 454 million euros in compensation for damages related to the increase in the nuclear waste tax known as the 'tasa Enresa.' This move follows a broader industry dispute, with Iberdrola also contesting the tax, and Endesa's total claims in this legal battle amounting to 778 million euros. Meanwhile, Endesa reported a 30% increase in its first-half profit, reaching 1.041 billion euros, boosted by the elimination of the energy sector tax. The company also saw a 4.5% rise in revenues and a 12.3% increase in gross operating profit. Endesa's CEO criticized the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) amid ongoing regulatory discussions. In a related sector development, Acciona Energía reported a 603.6% increase in profits to 455 million euros in the first half of the year and sold 440 MW of wind assets to Opdenergy for 530 million euros. Acciona's overall first-half profit surged 353% to 526 million euros, and it confirmed its annual targets. Opdenergy, an independent renewable energy producer, acquired the wind portfolio from Acciona Energía, which had been of interest to Colbún, a Chilean energy company.
