Despite García's impressive performance at the FIFA Club World Cup, where he scored four goals and provided one assist, de la Fuente emphasized the importance of patience and gradual development, noting that García has not yet played significant minutes in La Liga, Spain's top division. Specifically, García has accumulated only 70 minutes across four matches in the Primera División. De la Fuente highlighted the need for players to earn their place over time rather than rushing into the national team, referencing the concept of "making some military service" as a metaphor for gaining necessary experience. Ángel Torres, president of Getafe, also commented on García, indicating that although there was an agreement involving the player, his current status requires further development. These remarks were made during the presentation of Aitor Karanka as the director of development at the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
