After a bit of back-and-forth between Shakira Austin and Angel Reese, both received a technical foul. That is Austin's 5th tech of the season & Reese's 6th, one more tech, and Reese will be suspended for one game @DCNewsNow
Washington Mystics forward Kiki Iriafen left Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Sky after a first-quarter collision with Chicago rookie Angel Reese while the two contested a rebound. Iriafen was struck in the head, remained on the floor briefly and then was escorted to the locker room for evaluation. The Mystics did not immediately provide an update on her condition. Shortly after the incident, officials issued offsetting technical fouls to Mystics center Shakira Austin and Reese following a separate exchange. The call marked Austin’s fifth technical of the season and Reese’s sixth; league rules mandate a one-game suspension after a seventh technical.
