The Summerlin South Little League team from Nevada advanced to the U.S. championship game of the 2025 Little League World Series after suffering their first loss but winning an elimination game. On August 23, Summerlin South defeated Fairfield, Connecticut, 8-2 to claim the U.S. championship title, becoming the first Nevada team to do so in the tournament's history. This victory secured their place in the Little League World Series championship game scheduled for Sunday, August 24, against the international champion, Chinese Taipei. The U.S. championship game was broadcast on ABC at 12:30 p.m. PT, with the world championship game set for 3:00 p.m. ET on the same network. The team’s success has been celebrated locally with a special display on the Viva Vision Canopy at Fremont Street Experience and plans for a celebratory parade in Downtown Summerlin. Summerlin South’s achievement marks a milestone following the 2014 Mountain Ridge team, the previous Nevada representative to reach the U.S. championship game. The team received widespread support from local officials and sports figures ahead of their championship run.
