Zero-knowledge infrastructure start-up Boundless has released the economic model for its forthcoming ZKC utility token, outlining supply, distribution and unlock schedules as it moves toward a public launch. ZKC will have a fixed supply of one billion tokens. Boundless plans to direct 49% of the issuance to ecosystem growth, 23.5% to the founding team and early contributors, 21.5% to investors and 6% to a combined community sale and airdrop. Tokens distributed through the airdrop, aimed at early provers and other contributors, will be fully unlocked at the token-generation event, while the community sale will unlock 50% at issuance and the remaining half after six months. The token is intended to serve as both staking collateral and reward under the platform’s Proof-of-Verification Mechanism, requiring provers to lock ZKC to participate in generating zero-knowledge proofs. Boundless has kept the official launch date under wraps, but community expectations point to late September. A mainnet beta of the protocol has been running for roughly a month.
