Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square Capital Management disclosed a new stake in Amazon.com worth roughly $1.3 billion, according to its latest regulatory filing. The position amounts to more than 5.8 million shares, representing almost 10% of the hedge fund’s equity portfolio. Ackman accumulated the holding earlier this year after Amazon’s stock retreated amid market turbulence linked to the U.S. tariff on Chinese imports that took effect in April. The filing also shows Pershing Square added about 925,000 Class A shares of Alphabet, expanding its exposure to large-capitalisation U.S. technology companies. Ackman’s moves follow a broader trend of high-profile managers shifting capital toward megacap tech as they reposition portfolios for the second half of 2025.
