The S&P 500 Consumer Discretionary sector has surged by 19.2% over the past 30 days, marking its best performance since February 2023. This growth has been driven in part by strong performances from Tesla ($TSLA) and Amazon ($AMZN), with the Consumer Discretionary ETF ($XLY) rising 15% since the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. Additionally, the Retail ETF ($XRT) has reached its highest level since early 2022. While the Consumer Discretionary, Technology ($XLK), and Communication Services ($XLC) sectors posted significant gains this week, all other sectors experienced declines of over 1%.
