
The S&P 500 closed at a new all-time high of 6,144.15, marking its third record close of the year. This follows 57 all-time closing highs in 2024, making it the fifth most record-setting year in history. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also rose, gaining 71.25 points or 0.16% to close at 44,627.59, while the Nasdaq index increased by 14.99 points or 0.07% to 20,056.25. However, the Russell 2000 experienced a decline, dropping 7.89 points or 0.34% to 2,282.45. Amidst the general market gains, shares of Palantir fell significantly by 10.08% after comments from the Pentagon about potential spending cuts. Meta also saw a decline, dropping $12.60 or 1.76% to $703.77, marking its second consecutive day of losses.
