The U.S. Army said it has signed a 10-year enterprise agreement with Palantir Technologies that gives the service the option to purchase as much as $10 billion of the company’s software and data-integration tools through July 2035. The arrangement rolls 75 current contracts—15 where Palantir is the prime contractor and 60 where it is a subcontractor—into a single framework. Army officials said the consolidation is designed to shorten procurement timelines, eliminate reseller fees and secure volume-based discounts as the service expands its use of artificial-intelligence and data-analytics capabilities. The deal does not commit the Army to spend the full amount; purchases will be made on an as-needed, “à-la-carte” basis under standardized terms. The agreement is Palantir’s largest potential award and one of the biggest software contracts ever offered by the Department of Defense, further entrenching the Denver-based company as a key supplier of military technology. Palantir shares, which have more than doubled this year, were down about 2 percent in early trading following the announcement.
