VanEck has received approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch its Onchain Economy ETF, known as NODE, scheduled for May 14. The ETF will focus on 30 to 60 digital asset stocks related to the blockchain economy, including exchanges, miners, data centers, consumer-oriented companies, asset managers, and firms with cryptocurrencies in their treasury reserves. In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin ETFs experienced a significant rebound, recording $107.83 million in inflows following a $170 million outflow the previous day. BlackRock's IBIT led the recovery with $80.96 million in inflows, while Fidelity's FBTC and ARK's ARKB also contributed to the turnaround. Ethereum ETFs, however, saw no net flows on the same day, with Grayscale's ETHE recording outflows of 5,241 ETH, valued at $8.33 million. Despite this, Ethereum whales have been actively accumulating, withdrawing over 85,000 ETH, worth approximately $164 million, from exchanges like Binance, Gateio, and Bybit since February. Additionally, 6,000 ETH were bought on the same day, indicating continued whale activity. Galaxy Digital has been notably active, selling Ethereum and purchasing Solana, with transactions amounting to over $50 million in ETH sold for SOL in the past week. Additionally, Galaxy Digital has bought around $80 million worth of Solana in the past four days, indicating a shift in institutional interest towards Solana. Solana's price was reported at $136 and later at $135. Bitcoin's demand continues to outpace supply, with U.S. spot ETPs accumulating 529,325 BTC since their launch, while only 249,725 new BTC were mined in the same period. This trend reflects robust institutional interest in Bitcoin, further supported by significant purchases by whales and institutions, such as Abraxas Capital withdrawing 2,949 BTC, valued at $250 million, from exchanges over the last four days. Glassnode reports also indicate that Bitcoin long-term holders remain in profit, but top buyers may face rising losses as they shift to long-term holder status.
