Swiss President Keller-Sutter, Economy Minister Parmelin Visit Washington to Address 39% U.S. Tariffs Impacting Machinery and Watch Sectors

Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter expressed disappointment over the 39% tariffs imposed by the United States on Swiss goods, stating that these tariffs will have a very negative impact on the Swiss economy. While pharmaceuticals are not affected, the tariffs pose serious challenges for the Swiss machinery and watch sectors. Keller-Sutter noted that the 39% tariff is much higher than what was previously negotiated during constructive talks. In response, President Keller-Sutter and Swiss Economy Minister Guy Parmelin are traveling to Washington to engage in discussions aimed at presenting a more attractive trade offer to reduce the tariffs.
