Apple has significantly reduced its shipment forecasts for the $3,500 Vision Pro mixed-reality headset due to lower than expected demand in the US and international markets. Initially, the market consensus estimated that Apple would ship between 700,000 to 800,000 units in 2024, but recent reports from analysts including Ming-Chi Kuo indicate that the company has adjusted this figure down to 400,000 to 450,000 units. This adjustment comes as sales and interest in the Vision Pro have sharply declined, with some stores reportedly selling only a few units per week. The lackluster performance has prompted Apple to review and possibly adjust its strategy for the headset, including potentially not releasing a new model in 2025.
