Google Faces Penalties After Judge Rules Company Breached Antitrust Laws in Epic Play Store Case

Google is facing significant legal challenges as a US federal judge, James Donato, ruled that the company breached antitrust laws. The Google-Epic remedy hearing, which took place on Thursday, addressed Google's anticompetitive practices in the app market for smartphones powered by its Android software. Judge Donato indicated that Google, deemed an illegal monopolist, will have to pay penalties. Additionally, the judge dismissed Google's argument of a 'terrifying world of chaos' and ordered the company to calculate the costs of Epic's biggest Play Store demand.
