Google has adopted the Qi2 magnetic wireless-charging standard across its new Pixel 10 handset line and introduced a complementary range of accessories under the Pixelsnap brand. The core product, the Pixelsnap Charger, delivers up to 25 W of wireless power and can be paired with an optional stand sturdy enough to hold the foldable Pixel 10 Pro model. The launch portfolio also includes a Ring Stand, colour-matched protective cases and the Pixel Flex Dual Port 67 W USB-C Fast Charger, which can prioritise power delivery to Pixel phones when two devices are plugged in. To accommodate the Qi2 magnet array built into the Pixel 10 chassis, Google has removed the Battery Share reverse-wireless-charging function that featured on earlier models. The company says the physical space needed for the magnetic coil prevents simultaneous support for device-to-device charging. Google’s move aligns the Pixel line with the large ecosystem of Apple MagSafe and third-party Qi2 accessories and steps up competitive pressure ahead of Apple’s autumn product cycle. Apple is already enabling 25 W Qi2 charging on the current iPhone 16 through the forthcoming iOS 26 update and is reportedly testing reverse wireless charging for next year’s iPhone 17 Pro.
Pro iPhone models would charge Apple accessories like AirPods and the Apple Watch wirelessly. https://t.co/FjOLrl5sn5
Google's Pixel phones have often resembled iPhones in some shape or form over the past decade, and the company's strategy is paying off with significant interest https://t.co/EyUgkSYCFu
While everyone else waits for the Pixel 10 to arrive on store shelves with Qi2 and Pixelsnap in tow, I've been living the magnetic life for months. https://t.co/7LCfmbXKlE
