Argilla, an AI startup, has been acquired by Hugging Face on June 13, 2024. This acquisition marks another significant move for Hugging Face, following their previous acquisitions of Gradio and timm. Argilla, which focuses on data-centric, open-source AI, had its seed round led in September. Hugging Face's founder, Clem Delangue, revealed that the company is receiving acquisition interest from ten AI startups per week. The acquisition is expected to enhance Hugging Face's capabilities in reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) and preference tuning.
