Meta Platforms has recruited Frank Chu, an Apple executive who oversaw artificial-intelligence teams working on cloud infrastructure, training and search, according to people familiar with the matter. Chu will join the recently created Meta Superintelligence Labs, becoming at least the sixth Apple AI specialist to move to the social-media company. The appointment underscores Meta’s willingness to keep paying up for top machine-learning talent even as it signals plans to reduce overall hiring.
