Various organizations and individuals, including the Future of Life Institute (@FLI_org) and Open Philanthropy, are launching initiatives to fund projects and solicit proposals aimed at mitigating potential risks from advanced AI systems. Open Philanthropy's AI Governance and Policy team is seeking expressions of interest for this purpose, with grants of up to 4 million USD available. The focus is on governance to steer AI towards positive outcomes and avoid negative ones.
