OpenAI has announced the release of the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS, now available to all users. The app, which initially rolled out to Plus subscribers, no longer requires a subscription. Users with macOS 14+ and Apple Silicon (M1 or better) can start using the app immediately. The new desktop application allows users to chat directly with ChatGPT and perform various tasks such as managing emails and screenshots using the Option + Space shortcut. This release marks a significant expansion of ChatGPT's accessibility, making it easier for Mac users with Apple Silicon to interact with OpenAI's advanced chatbot.
