Quiet-STaR is a new technique that allows language models to generate internal thoughts before speaking, improving reasoning abilities without the need for curated data. Developed by Eric Zelikman and his team from Stanford University and Notbad AI Inc., Quiet-STaR aims to enhance generative language models by enabling them to reason more generally and scalably.

Researchers gave AI an 'inner monologue' and it massively improved its performance Scientists trained an AI system to think before speaking with a technique called QuietSTaR. The inner monologue improved common sense reasoning and doubled math performance. Giving artificial… https://t.co/7NuQGQ4tDi
