
A series of cyberattacks by various ransomware groups has compromised multiple organizations worldwide, leading to significant data breaches. In Australia, the Embargo ransomware group reportedly stole 500 GB of data from FirstMac, including databases and sensitive customer information, with a ransom deadline set for May 8, 2024. In the USA, Studio Libeskind and Lewis Brothers Bakeries were targeted by the Akira and Medusa ransomware groups, respectively, with the latter demanding a $1 million ransom and exfiltrating 115.92 GB of data. The Watergate Hotel also fell victim to the Qilin ransomware group, losing PII documents, invoices, and other financial data. Additionally, the GCH Hotel Group in Germany reported a breach by the Akira group, which involved 45 GB of personal and financial documents.
