Former England striker and broadcaster Gary Lineker said an appearance in Wimbledon’s Royal Box left him nursing leg cramps after he spent roughly seven hours seated next to former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua. Speaking on his “The Rest Is Football” podcast, Lineker explained that Joshua’s 6-ft-plus frame forced both men to sit with limited space, leaving the 64-year-old presenter unable to move his legs comfortably. Lineker joked that he never worked up the nerve to ask the boxer to adjust his seating. The pair attended Day Five of the Championships, watching Carlos Alcaraz defeat Jan-Lennard Struff and Emma Raducanu’s three-set contest with Aryna Sabalenka. Lineker attended with his son Angus, while Joshua was accompanied by promoter Eddie Hearn. Despite the cramped conditions, Lineker described Joshua as “a lovely guy” and said the group enjoyed the afternoon’s tennis.
