
The U.S. Department of Labor has taken action against two separate businesses for underpaying their employees. In Fort Worth, a 7-Eleven was found to owe nearly $21,000 in back wages to its employees. The Labor Department's Wage and Hour division successfully recovered these wages for 21 employees, with the total amount of wages and penalties nearing $56,000. Meanwhile, a popular Miami-Dade deli was also discovered to have underpaid its employees by more than $97,000, according to federal investigations.
