Jan Ravnik, best known as a principal dancer on Taylor Swift’s record-shattering Eras Tour, has been hired as the newest professional on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” The Slovenian-born performer announced the move in a pre-recorded segment aired on Good Morning America on 28 August, saying he is “ready to win” the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. Ravnik’s appointment comes eight months after Swift’s 149-show world tour wrapped, having generated more than $2 billion in ticket sales. His résumé also includes appearances at the 97th Academy Awards, Mariah Carey’s Christmas special and concerts with Bruno Mars and Paula Abdul. Season 34 of the long-running competition debuts 16 September on ABC and Disney+, with next-day streaming on Hulu. Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin, social-media influencer Alix Earle and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” personalities Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt are the first celebrity contestants confirmed. The full cast will be unveiled on 3 September.
