American strawweight prospect Fatima Kline opened the UFC’s 12-fight card in Nashville on Saturday with a dominant stoppage of Mexico’s Melissa Martinez. Fighting at Bridgestone Arena, Kline landed a right hand followed by a high kick that dropped Martinez, finishing the contest with punches at 2:36 of the third round. The victory moves Kline to 8-1 professionally and gives her a second consecutive UFC win after a January TKO of Victoria Dudakova. Martinez, who entered the bout off a decision win last October, slips to 8-2. Oddsmakers had installed Kline as a heavy −1100 favorite against the +600 underdog Martinez.
