Bo Nickal, a UFC middleweight fighter, has signed with Real American Freestyle Wrestling (RAF), an amateur wrestling promotion run by Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. Nickal will return to the wrestling mat and compete at RAF's inaugural event on August 30 in Cleveland, Ohio. Despite this return to wrestling, Nickal has stated he will continue fighting in the UFC, with plans to compete again in October or November. The first RAF event will also feature other MMA fighters such as Darrion Caldwell, a former Bellator champion, and Lance Palmer, a two-time PFL champion. The announcement marks a notable crossover as several MMA athletes participate in the new wrestling promotion.
