Stigal, the WhisperGate suspect, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Maryland on June 27 for his involvement in cyberattacks targeting Ukrainian government systems ahead of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. The indictment alleges that Stigal used data-destroying malware known as WhisperGate to compromise these systems.
