The American Accountability Foundation, a pro-Trump group linked to senior officials in the Trump administration, has launched a campaign targeting federal employees it labels as 'subversive' or promoting liberal ideologies. Since October, the group has published three online watchlists naming 175 federal workers, mostly career civil servants, including personal information and allegations such as donating to Democrats or supporting immigrant aid groups. Women constitute two-thirds of those targeted. The campaign has resulted in harassment, intimidation, job losses, and emotional distress among the employees, some of whom have expressed fears for their safety and that of their families. Legal experts warn that such watchlists could deter civil servants from engaging in politically sensitive work. The targeted employees have been involved in areas including immigration, education, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. This campaign is part of a broader effort described by President Trump as a 'campaign of retribution' during his second term. Additionally, the Aryan Freedom Network, a white nationalist group, has reportedly gained influence during the Trump era, with its leader Henry Stout stating that Trump has advanced their cause.

Trump “awakened a lot of people to the issues we’ve been raising for years,” AFN leader Henry Stout told Reuters. “He’s the best thing that’s happened to us.” https://t.co/euOwkPKSG5
