U.S. consumer prices have slowed to an annual pace of 1.9%, and the six-month annualized rate of core inflation now stands at 2.4%, according to the latest inflation report released on Tuesday. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the figures confirm the administration’s efforts to curb living costs. She noted a 9% year-on-year decline in overall energy prices, including a 10% drop in gasoline. Prices for eggs and hotel stays have fallen 20% and 4.8%, respectively, Leavitt added. Republican lawmakers echoed the administration’s message, pointing to consecutive monthly increases in real wages and a five-month high in small-business optimism. They attributed the trend to President Donald Trump’s tax policy, energy initiatives and trade measures, and said the White House will continue to prioritize steps aimed at keeping price pressures subdued.
Wages are growing, energy costs are falling, and inflation remains low and stable. President Trump’s America First economic agenda is working.
WH Press Sec. Karoline Leavitt announced that wages have continued to increase while inflation has continued to decrease since Trump took office. Leavitt ended the announcement saying, “Ignore the Panicans. Trust in Trump.” Follow: @AFpost https://t.co/WThyesUw10
